Where our information comes from
Breed descriptions come from the registries that write the standards (TICA, CFA, GCCF), and genetics from veterinary genetics laboratories and veterinary schools such as the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory and the Cornell Feline Health Center. Each guide lists the pages it relies on. Weights, dates and percentages appear only where a source gives them. The review ledger lives in the repository as TOPICS-REVIEW.md.
How we use AI
AI powers the identification in the app and may help draft the guides. On this site, every claim is checked against its source before a page becomes indexable.
What a result is
A likeness. The app estimates which breeds a cat resembles from visible features and reports it as a mix. Most cats are non-pedigree domestic cats, a photo cannot establish pedigree, and nothing here is veterinary advice. Breed temperament descriptions are typical tendencies, not promises about an individual cat.
Corrections
We want to get this right. If you spot an error, tell us and we'll review it against the sources and update the guide.
